i am wearing my toga and i like it that way

seriously i don't think people even know what dignity is anymore, what it looks like, what it means. i myself had mine own stolen a long time ago and recovered it with help, but now that i have it back i can see that just an awful lot of people have lost theirs. and they don't even know it, that's the trouble. a lot of people walk around without their dignity on and therefore it seems almost normal to be debased and debauched, to accept lies and abuse and crap for news and entertainment that you will now make life or death decisions with. to have people running your life as if you're an invalid who can only make a pathetic wavy X on the signature line.

dignity and privacy go together. most people have no privacy our privacy has been invaded by a paranoid government. but even we have it better than the so-called celebrities who have had their dignity stripped, literally stripped so that they can't do a single thing without having photographers at hand and magazine publishers ready to rip them apart for making a mistake for wearing the wrong sandals. but you see they get something in exchange for giving up their dignity, they get money. the system has been designed to reward certain people very very handsomely for surrendering their dignity. they get lots of money and fame and attention, the attention of their adoring fans poring over their every single move and offering to marry them please please please, and so it doesn't seem so bad to the many people to aspire to give up their dignity hey at least you might be rich and famous and have your choice of whack-job spouses.

but who gets to have their dignity *and* their money? oh you are not allowed to know that pfft. hell even the president of the usa has no privacy or dignity. you know he's just a piker and a tool and the people who guard their dignity with ferocious jealousy don't want you to even know they exist. no no. you are to satisfy yourself with a life striving to be like some rich famous miserable person lindsay lohan or brittany spears or the dead ones like heath ledger, with no dignity but at least money or fame along with crying screaming adoring hating mourning fucking crazy lost fans, and failing that -- which let's face it most people will fail to reach that level of rich and famous misery -- well you have at least given up your dignity pursuing that nightmare dream for nothing. hey great deal huh? what do you think all these reality teevee shows are about anyway? it's to encourage more and more people to sacrifice their human dignity for nothing but money, which they mistakenly believe will make them happy.

and then these very same people turn around and treat everyone else like they have no dignity either, seeing as they don't know any better. and you know when you have your dignity on and someone tries to rip it off your body, hey i'm sorry but that pisses a person right off. have a fucking clue.

i keep talking about dignity because i keep learning about dignity. God created us in his image therefore we have dignity, we can learn we can act we can create we can grow. but at this point many of us have been reduced and cut off from our innate abilities to learn to act to create to grow so that one might fairly say some animals have more dignity than human beings. and that my friends constitutes a tragedy because we were made with everything animals have but we got something extra, and that extra thing is dignity. God gave it to us for a reason. why do we let people steal it from our children why do we take it from them ourselves why do we let people trick us to hand it over as adults? why, not to sound like nancy kerrigan but WHY? some tonya harding nutbag flunky has whacked us over the kneecap with the crowbar and we need to wrap an ace bandage and get a bag of ice and go get that fucker, limping or not. seriously people come on already.
